Quality in custom and standard glassware

Quality at Aethex Industries is tied to the five-step workflow used for custom and made-to-order glassware: you share a drawing or sample, we carry out a technical review, we manufacture, we check quality, then we deliver. The two steps that protect both the buyer and the glassblowing work are technical review and quality check. They are where drawings are questioned, samples are measured, and finished pieces are compared with what was agreed — not where marketing claims about certificates are invented.

Technical review

Technical review looks at whether the item can be made in glass for the stated application. We look at connections (joints, flanges, threads), whether a jacket, vacuum duty or unusual geometry is involved, and whether the sample or drawing is complete enough to manufacture against. If a dimension cannot be taken from a damaged sample, or a flange standard is missing, we ask before cutting glass. This is also where we say if a duty is better kept in metal or split between glass and other materials. We do not invent pressure, temperature or chemical-resistance ratings on this page; project values belong on your drawing.

How drawings and samples are verified

Drawings are checked for overall sizes, nozzle coordinates and end connections. Samples are used when a replacement must match an existing reactor, condenser, spool or lab piece. Photographs help when the sample cannot travel. The agreed record — drawing revision or marked-up sample notes — is what manufacturing follows. If you change the duty after review, send an updated drawing so the quality check still has a single reference.

Quality check

Quality check is visual and dimensional against that agreed reference: cracks and stones, joint fit where specified, flange match, and the features called on the drawing. It is not a substitute for your incoming inspection or for process validation at site. Packing is planned so pipeline spools and reactor assemblies can be identified against the piece list.
